How to Properly Brew Loose Leaf Iced Tea

Summertime & Sunshine

Summertime is here, the sunshine is upon us, and the warm weather has set in! At Victory Tea Co. we love the summer! It’s one event after another, farmer’s markets, township celebrations, and county fairs and because we’re situated Greater Philadelphia region, they tend to be hot and humid! This means ICED TEA and lots of it! We bring out gallons and gallons of iced tea to serve our customers, friends, and whoever wants to stop by!

Hot or Cold You Choose!

The beautiful thing about our tea is the quality of the blends make for an extraordinarily absolutely refreshing summertime iced tea brew. Although, served hot just as well, when you need to cool off, these full-flavor blends are an elegant alternative to the basic black lemon and green tea bags so commonly used. We’ve hand-picked a few blends that not only make a great cup of tea, but can be served iced!

The Art of Iced Tea

Mastering the art of brewing iced tea is actually pretty simple. We have two preferred methods listed below. Both are simple, both create a unique taste to its method, you choose what works best for you!

Traditional Method

1. Brew tea as normal. Follow the tea/water ratio listed on each tin. For larger amount you may need to steep a 1-2 longer but be careful not to over brew.
2. Optional – Add sweetener to taste while hot allowing it to fully dissolve (This step is optional as our teas are micro-blend to have a consistent full-flavor.)
3. Bring to room temperature. Refrigerate for 4-5 hours or until cool.
4. Voila! Pour over ice, lay by the pool, and soak up the sun

Cold Brew

1. Fill a pitcher with cold purified water.
2. Follow the recommended tea/water ratio listed on each tin. Pour directly into the pitcher.
3. Refrigerate the pitcher – Green Tea 8-10 Hours | Black Tea 10-12 Hours
4. Pour through a fine mesh strainer.
5. Optional – Add sweetener to taste (This step is optional as our teas are micro-blended to have a consistent full-flavor.)
6. Voila! Pour over ice, lay by the pool, and soak up the sun
